Dallas Industries delivers servo feed to Challenge Manufacturing

Dallas Industries, a manufacturer of coil handling, press feeding equipment and controls for the stamping industry, announced that Challenge Manufacturing, Walker, Michigan, has taken delivery of a new Dallas Industries servo feed.

Dallas Industries Servo FeedThe servo feed is a DRFHDS-530 servo feed with pull through straightener. It is a cabinet mounted servo feed with a five roll pull thru straightener. The straightener has powered pinch rolls, air operated upper pinch roll and a automatic air clutch to disengage the pinch rolls when the feeder is in automatic mode. It is rated for 30" coil width x 0.170" thickness at full width and 12" x 0.250" maximum thickness at 12" wide.

The servo feed is built on an Allen-Bradley, Ethernet-based control architecture and features ProfileSelect, a unique feed control system that is exclusively available through Dallas
Industries. It uses a cam-motion (sinusoidal) profile. This smooth profile results in a feed motion that utilizes 100 percent of the press feed window, reducing stress on the material and the feed’s mechanical components.
