Ingersoll Rand sales up 3 percent

Ingersoll-Rand plc reported revenues of $3.7 billion for the third quarter of 2017, up 3 percent compared to $3.6 billion in the same period last year.


Enterprise revenue was up 2 percent in North America and international revenues increased 1 percent organically.

Net earning of $367 million, or $1.41 per share, compared to earnings of $377 million, or $1.39 in the same period last year.

“We delivered strong bookings growth in both our Climate and Industrial segments and low-single digit organic revenue growth. Our Industrial segment continues to perform ahead of our expectations with significant margin improvement on relatively flat revenue," said Michael W. Lamach, chairman and chief executive officer.

Industrial segment sales, which includes compressed air and gas systems and services, and power tools, were $731 million, compared to $730 million in last year's third quarter.
