HD Supply Waterworks becomes Core & Main

HD Supply Waterworks, the nation’s largest distributor of water, sewer, storm and fire protection products, today announced the company will change its name to Core & Main effective immediately.

The company, previously a division of HD Supply, became a freestanding enterprise following its acquisition by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice on Aug. 1, 2017.

“The name Core & Main allows us to continue our incredible journey as a leading distributor in the water infrastructure and fire protection industries as well as adjacent markets,” said Steve LeClair, CEO of Core & Main. “As an independent company, Core & Main has an exciting opportunity to accelerate our growth.”

As Core & Main plans for growth, the company will continue its legacy of service and innovation with a commitment to provide quality products and services, the company said in a press release announcing the name change.

“Core & Main is not a new company, we’re a company with a long history of dependable expertise providing local customer service to contractors and communities across the nation,” said LeClair. “We supply the core infrastructure and fire protection materials needed to support community development and protect people and property. Our new name reflects our continued commitment to provide innovative solutions for new and existing customers in this space.”

Core & Main currently employs approximately 2,900 associates at 246 branch locations throughout the United States.
