WESCO International sales up 4.7 percent

WESCO International reported net sales of $2.0 billion for the fourth quarter of 2017, an 11.3 percent increase compared to $1.79 billion for the fourth quarter of 2016.


Organic sales for the quarter grew by 10.1 percent. Sequentially, net sales decreased 0.2 percent and organic sales increased 1.6 percent.

Net income was $22.5 million for the fourth quarter of 2017, of 47 cents per share, compared to a net income of $47.4 million, or 96 cents, for the fourth quarter of 2016.

For the full year, net sales were $7.68 billion, compared to $7.34 billion for 2016, an increase of 4.7 percent. Net income was $163.5 million for 2017, or $3.38 per share, compared to $101.6 million, or $2.10 per share, for 2016.

"Our fourth quarter results reflect continued positive and broad-based momentum in our business. Sales grew 10 percent organically, our highest growth rate in six years, with all end markets and geographies contributing," said John J. Engel, chairman, president and CEO.
